Blowin' In The Wind

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, ’n’ how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, ’n’ how many times must the cannonballs fly
Before they’re forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind

How many years can a mountain exist
Before it’s washed to the sea?
Yes, ’n’ how many years can some people exist
Before they’re allowed to be free?
Yes, ’n’ how many times can a man turn his head
Pretending he just doesn’t see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, ’n’ how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, ’n’ how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind

Tick tock tick tock tick tock

Uh oh. Today is apparently what some fanatic folks refer to as the Rapture! As I’ll be frolicking at the Renaissance Faire, I trust that someone out there will remember to get Madonna and Justin Timberlake to do this final dance number for the sake of humanity. Chop chop. Doooo itttttt!

He had one of those rare smiles...

"They were careless people, Tom and Daisy — they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made..."

Dreams

"The best thing about dreams is that fleeting moment, when you are between asleep and awake, when you don't know the difference between reality and fantasy, when for just that one moment you feel with your entire soul that the dream is reality, and it really happened." ---Oprah Winfrey

These dream-like double exposures can easily fool the eye. It might look like photography, but these pieces are actually paintings.

Wistful, mysterious, surreal, and oh-so AH-mazing. Le sigh.

Oh, my life
Is changing every day
In every possible way

And oh, my dreams
It's never quite as it seems
Never quite as it seems

I know I've felt like this before
But now I'm feeling it even more
Because it came from you

And then I open up and see
The person falling here is me
A different way to be

I want more
(Impossible to ignore, impossible to ignore)
And they'll come true
(Impossible not to do, impossible not to do)

And now I'll tell you openly
You have my heart so don't hurt me
You're what I couldn't find

A totally amazing mind
So understanding and so kind
You're everything to me

First of May

Song of the day...

In other news,

Osama Bin Laden is pronounced dead.

It’s a bit disturbing to see people celebrating as if they just won a sport game. Yes, it’s a victory, but it is just tacky to celebrate someone’s death, no matter how vile and vicious that person may be. The cycle of hatred and violence never truly ends unless we learn something from it. Have some class, America.

"I will mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."
~Martin Luther King, Jr.
